Do you guys remember when my pictures were used on The Fosters in an episode directed by Norman Buckley? (Click the link if you don’t remember what I’m talking about.) Well, Norman also directed the two most recent episodes of Pretty Little Liars and lo and behold, my photography showed up on TV again!
My photos were in episode 2 of this season for half of a split second when Aria has her camera up to her eye.
Episode 3 of this season had a few seconds of Aria going through her computer looking at photos she’d taken. (Not all of “Aria’s” photos were mine.)
So there you have it, a handful of “blink and you miss it” moments that total my 15 minutes of fame. I’ve never felt so cool! 😉
Remember when my photos were used on an episode of The Fosters? Well, it happened again! Some of my photos were printed out and used to decorate one of the walls in a character’s bedroom. (The character that is a photography buff, the one who “took” my photos on the show.) It was a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment but I managed to grab two screencaps of the scene.
They’re small and blurry in the back, but they’re there! 🙂
This way might be easier, the pictures are the same but only my photos are in color…
This was a bench I walked past in Playa Vista
This was a movie theater facade on the set of another TV show. Kinda funny, a set from one show on the set of another show? But you would have to be a huge fan of the show (like I am) to even recognize it. Major points to you if you know what set and TV show I’m talking about! 😉
This is a funky sidewalk/wall thing. I thought it looked cool. They hung it on the wall in a different direction than it was taken, which almost makes it better. If you remember back to the first episode my pictures were used in, I was extra excited because Norman Buckley directed it. (One of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met, FYI.) Well Norman’s husband Davyd Whaley is a very talented artist, and this photo was taken just outside of his studio. I have no clue if this is a happy, ‘small world’ type coincidence or not, but either way it makes me smile.
This was an alternate shot of the same movie theater facade I talked about above.
Directly behind her head (hard to see it’s in color because it is so dark) is this picture of some lights at a fancy shopping area here in LA.
Above her head and slightly to the left of her head is this picture of some street art I walked past and loved. I discovered later that it was done by a wonderful artist named Jennifer Korsen.
So there ya go. My “15 minutes” are officially over, but the excitement will last for a long time!
Did any of you watch last night’s episode of The Fosters? If you missed it don’t worry, here are some screencaps of my photos.
It was so cool seeing photos I took for my own amusement up there on the TV screen, truly something that will put a smile on my face as long as I live! Thanks to everyone who made it happen, and extra special thanks to an extra special friend who made it possible for me to watch it as it aired. 🙂
Do any of you watch The Fosters on ABC Family? If you do, make sure you watch closely to Monday night’s episode, you might see some photos you’ll recognize. Not only was it directed by Norman Buckley (whom I love both as a director and a person) but they needed some still photos to use in the episode and chose mine! I’ve never had my photos appear on TV before so I am very excited about this. 🙂
If you’re not familiar with The Fosters here is a blurb from the website:
The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams, a school Vice Principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon, and their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef warily welcome Callie into their home thinking it’s just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found.
There are many reasons why The Fosters is awesome. Here are a few you might not be aware of:
I can’t think of any other silly reasons to list here, but in all seriousness I’ve heard it is a really good show addressing some serious issues in both an honest and entertaining way. I haven’t seen it myself since I don’t have cable and there doesn’t seem to be any way to stream it on Roku, but a friend is letting me invite myself over to her place on Monday night to watch.
Too many words for you? In summary: My pictures are going to be on TV, yay!!!!!
Well this past week was certainly more eventful than most. All grand adventures, but my body is crying out for some TLC. I think I need a few restful days after this week…
Monday night a friend and I went to a Buzz Aldrin book signing at a local bookstore. There were so many people that we were herded through the line rapidly with no time to stop and chat, but I did manage to take a few pictures of him, and a photo with him. Er… Sorta.
This was one of the coolest things I have ever done, I mean, he’s BUZZ FREAKIN’ ALDRIN!!!
Other photos from Monday:
Wednesday got off to a rocky start, but ended up being one of those days where things work out perfectly! A good friend thought she was driving to Los Angeles to take me to a doctor appointment. In reality she was coming down to hang out at CBS on the set of The Young & The Restless and meet a long-time favorite actor of hers. Timing was critical, but even an exploding radiator and a game of musical cars couldn’t stop us.
We took a little detour through The Price is Right
While my friend watched them shooting, I amused myself.
After CBS we rushed off to get in line for the sneak preview (by one day) of Star Trek Into Darkness. Lines are always more fun with friends!
