Photos, Old and New

Photos from the last however-long-since-my-last-photo-post.

I had to pull out an old hard drive for something recently, and I took a look at some old photos that were saved on it.

I had a lovely Fourth of July!

Photo post: LA Zoo

I can’t remember the last time I was at a zoo, I mean we are probably talking sometime way back in my childhood… What ever the number of years, it’s been a long, long time. Today a wonderful friend took me to the LA Zoo. My only request was elephants and elephants were seen so right there alone the trip was a success. We only did certain sections of the zoo, it was hot today and even with frequent stops I can only walk so much before my body says “no way,” but everything we saw was just delightful!

The LA Zoo website has all kinds of info, if you want to know more about baby Sofie, the Zoo’s Elephants, or just find out what the heck a Tajik Markhor is.

Photos from the past few weeks

Once again, I missed my “Weekly photo post.” I think it’s time to make it easy on myself and give up on any kind of schedule.

Friends and I took a trip to some of the lookouts up off Mulholland on Sunday. It was a hazy day, but still beautiful.

Photo post: Griffith Observatory

One of my favorite places in Los Angeles is the The Griffith Observatory. So many amazing things to look at, both inside and out.

My week in photos…

I missed doing one of these posts last week, so this one should actually be “my last 2 weeks in photos” but that just doesn’t have the same ring to it. 😉

Photo post: Travel Town, again…

Yes I have posted photos from Travel Town before, no you’re not crazy. (Well, you might be, but no you’re not imagining seeing pictures from Travel Town before.) I was in the area today and wanted to play around with some settings on my camera that I usually ignore.

Photo post: Los Angeles this week…

Photo post: Pacific Coast Highway

Is there anything better on a gorgeous southern California day than jumping in the car with a bunch of friends, a camera, and no set time you have to be home? I can’t think of much else I’d rather be doing…

Photo post: Travel Town

Travel Town is a museum in Griffith Park with all kinds of different train cars. Kids are able to climb into some of them and look around. Others are just for show. It is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles.

Photo post: Vasquez Rocks, Fillmore, The Olivas Adobe

You’ve probably seen the Vasquez Rocks in too many movies and TV shows to name, but they are most famous (in my head) as the place where Kirk fought the Gorn.

The Fillmore Railway

The Olivas Adobe, built in the 1840s. Truly impressive!
